Day 5: Porcupine Rim, Moab
Today I rented a long-travel bike and got shuttled to the top of the ride (actually part of the Kokopelli Trail) at about 8300 feet. The downhill was great - Kokopelli Trail to the upper and lower singletrack sections of Porcupine along the rim itself, then some Jeep trails with lots of drops as it left the edge, and finally some rocky singletrack along the walls over the Colorado River. All told it was about 4000 feet of drop and probably over 15 miles. Fun! Tomorrow one of my favorite places - the slickrock playground above Bartlett Wash.
